Mrs. J. T. PALMER
Mrs. Amy Palmer, relict of the late Mr. John Palmer, butcher of Raymond Terrace died in hospital on Tuesday week last. Mrs. Palmer had been residing at Hamilton ever since she left the Terrace about 20 years ago. She was born at Nelson's Plains 74 years ago, and had resided in Raymond
Terrace after her husband's death carrying on the business of butchering. Relinquishing this she went to reside in Newcastle. Her death came almost suddenly as she was ill only for a few days, death being due to a blood clot. It was a shock to her family as there was no evidence previously that there was anything at all likely to cause her death within a week. She was genial in her manner, and kind and motherly in her actions, and was held in esteem by all who knew her.
The funeral left St Peters' C. of E., Hamilton on Wednesday week last for Beresfield crematorium.
Floral emblems were numerously laid on the coffin.
The family surviving are Mrs. C. G. Wood, Mrs. L. A. Markey, Mrs. E. Dunne, Mrs. H. Sheedy, Mrs. H. Owen and Miss Desma Palmer. She is likewise survived by 10 great grandchildren.
She was cremated at Newcastle Crematorium and Memorial Gardens, Anderson Drive at Beresfield and it was recorded that her ashes were placed in ROSE U 5/25 Ref: 5880.
