     Rev. Edward Cook Pritchard was baptised on 15 Dec 1833 in Chetwynd, Shropshire, a son of Thomas and Mary (née Grindley) Pritchard.

Rev. Edward Cook Pritchard married Harriet Blake in 1860 in Hampshire.

Edward was a Minister in the Primitive Methodist Church, as summarised in the Camden Theological Library:
Rev Cook Pritchard, having been ordained as a Primitive Methodist Minister and served at Plymouth, arrived in Hobart from England in 1860.
He served in Hobart until transferring to Newtown 1863-64, then Newcastle 1865-69, Crown Street Sydney 1870-74.
He returned to England in 1875 where he served in a number of circuits until returning to NSW, Newcastle 1882-84, Newtown 1885-86 and Forest Lodge 1887. He was elected President of the NSW Primitive Methodist Annual Assembly in 1886.
He returned to England in 1888 as a supernumerary. He wrote a number of books including "Under the Southern Cross: Incidents and adventures of Missionary Life in Australia" and "The History of Primitive Methodism in Australasia and New Zealand."


Rev. Edward Cook Pritchard married Mary Ann Smith Goodsell, daughter of Frederick John Goodsell and Sarah Sivyer, on 13 Oct 1864 in Newtown, New South Wales.
