So the family, including nine children, with the youngest child just nine months old, went by wagon via Gloucester, across the Manning River, over the range to Nowendoc and along the range to "Branga Park", which was 20 miles south of Walcha. Frank had been employed by the Waugh family, after whom Wauchope was named, but Sarah decided to move into Walcha township and the family obtained what casual work they could in that area.
