William Aldons Harmer

      William Aldons Harmer was born in 1889 in Fitzroy North, Victoria, a son of William J. and Emma J. (née Aldons) Harmer. William Aldons Harmer was also known as William Aldous.

He began military service on 3 Jul 1915 in Melbourne, Victoria, in the Australian Imperial Force 6 Battalion, 10 Regiment, Service No: 3030. He served in Egypt, being twice wounded in 1917 and awarded the Military Medal. William then served in France, and was discharged from active service on 4 July 1918.

William Aldous Harmer married Rosalie Mabel Barnett in 1919 in Victoria.

William Aldons Harmer died on 20 Feb 1971 at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital in Heidelberg, Victoria, late of Caulfield.
