He and Doris Kathleen Adam were divorced on 6 May 1931 by Decree Absolute, as reported in the Sydney Morning Herald of 15 Oct. 1918 (Page 9):
ADAM v ADAM.
Doris Kathleen Adam petitioned for a divorce from her husband, Thomas Laurie Adam, on the ground of desertion. The marriage took place at Croydon, Surrey, England, on September 12, 1918, according to the rites of the Church of England. A decree nisi, returnable in six months, was granted. Mr. Norman Gregg appeared for the petitioner.

On 4 July 19030, the Sydney Morning Herald reported:
ADAM V ADAM
Doris Kathleen Adam (formerly Masters) petitioned for a decree for restitution of conjugal rights to be directed to Thomas Laurie Adam to whom she was married on September 12 1918, at Croydon England according to the rites of the Established Church. There was no appearance on behalf of respondent, and his Honor granted a decree ordering him to return to or take back petitioner within 21 days of the date of its service upon him. Mr Norman E Gregg ap-
peared for petitioner.

Then, as reported in the Sydney Morning Herald of 31 Oct. 1931 (page 8), the Decree was made Absolute by Mr Justice Owen.

Thomas Laurie Adam died on 21 Oct 1957 at Narrabeen War Veterans' Home in Narrabeen, New South Wales, and the cause of his death was recorded as myocardial infarct, myocardial degeneration and congestive cardiac failure.
He was cremated on 22 Oct 1957 at Northern Suburbs Crematorium, 199 Delhi Road at North Ryde.
