Frederick James Sivyer married Margaret Ellen Redmond on 18 Jun 1938 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Innisfail, Queensland, and it was reported as follows:
SIVYER—REDMOND.
The wedding of Miss Margaret Ellen Redmond, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Redmond, of Innisfail, to Mr. Frederick James Sivyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Sivyer, of South Johnstone, was recently solemnised in Our Lady of Good Counsel Cathedral, Innisfail. The church was nicely decorated with white flowers, with a touch of mauve to harmonise with the bridal frocks. The Rev. Father Toner officiated. Preceding the bride to the altar was little Diane Watt, frocked in white taffeta, made on princess lines, with a silver spray of her hair. She also carried a dainty white satin cushion, on which was the wedding ring. Diane wore a gold signet ring, the gift of the groom. Mr. C. Carmichael was best man, whilst Messrs. Phil Green and Fred Williams were groomsmen. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, Miss Terese O'Hanlon playing the "Wedding March" as the bride walked to the altar. The bride looked charming in her dainty frock of slipper
satin, made with a high neck and fastened with loops and buttons on the shoulders. The long sleeves came to a point over the hands, and the train was finished with true lover's knot of ruched satin ribbon and was held in place with pearls. Her honiton net veil, lent by her aunt (Mrs. M. O'Brien), was held in place by a coronet of fresh flowers. A shower bouquet of camelias, jonquils, gardenias and hot house ferns completed a dainty ensemble. The bride's three sisters Dorothy, Amy and Maive attended her as bridesmaids. They wore frocks of mauve chiffon georgette, flared skirts, finished with ground length lacquered satin sashes of purple. Muffs of stiffened net adorned with purple asters were carried, and their unusual head-dresses of two-toned lacquered satin petals harmonised with their frocks and sashes. The bride's aunt (Mrs. S. Cahill) sang "Ave Maria" whilst the register was being signed, and "The Bridal March" as the bride was proceeding down the
aisle. The bride's mother wore a dress of navy pony skin satin on silver, with navy accessories, and her posy was of pastel toned sweet peas tied with pink tulle. The groom's mother wore a frock of floral mariette, with a neora straw hat, with a posy of autumn toned calendulas to match the costume. Over 100 guests were afterwards entertained at the home of the bride's parents at East Innisfail.
Frederick James Sivyer died about 3 Jun 1999 in Brisbane, Queensland, ate of Cazna Gardens, Sunnybank, formerly of South Johnstone and Mitchelton.
