William T. Cook
William Thomas Cook was born about 1794 in St James, Bristol, Gloucestershire. He was baptised on 7 Dec 1794 in Bristol, Gloucestershire.
He was allegedly a Cabin Boy for Lord Horatio Nelson on board the 'Victory' at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 Oct 1805, according to some family members, but the Royal Navy Museum at Portsmouth was unable to substantiate this claim in a letter dated 18 Oct 2006. For an auction held in August 2007, some family members submitted a ship's bucket and telescope allegedly from the 'Victory' that had been the property of William Cook, though their provenance has not been proved.
He emigrated in 1820 from London as a Convict, and arrived in Sydney on board the 'Mangles' on 7 August 1820.

William Thomas Cook married Mary A. McWilson on 6 Apr 1835 at St Paul's Church of England in Maitland, New South Wales, with the consent of the Governor (Major-General Sir Richard Bourke), granted on 23 Jan 1835 at Maitland NSW and Rev. George Keylock Rusden performed the marriage ceremony.
William was apparently a skilled cabinet maker, and an ornate table submitted for auction by Leonard Joel Ltd, on behalf of his family in 2007 was crafted by him, with an estimated realisation over $30,000 about 1840.
William Thomas Cook witnessed the marriage of William Fairhall and Eliza Cook on 30 Aug 1853 at St James' Church of England in Morpeth, New South Wales.
William was a Carpenter on 29 Aug 1856.
