1. WILLIAM Fairhall

William Fairhall, who married Sarah Stringer in Brighton, Sussex, was born in that town around 1801. His family appears to have remained around Brighton, and currently I have 400 family members included in my database.

2. THOMAS Fairhall

Thomas Fairhall lived at Burwash, not far from Brede and other villages identified with our family. He was born about 1651, and married Mary Tanner there in 1672. From that union we now have almost 700 descendants listed.

3. GEORGE Farehall

George Farehall, born in 1748 in Surrey, married Hannah Symonds/Simmons. They have a family which is progressively being documented by their descendants (currently over 250 members), and many of them are still living in or near that county.

4. RICHARD Fayrehall

Richard Fayrehall was born about 1495 in the Sussex village of Lindfield, and descendants of this family were landholders. This is the furthest back we have been able to trace any Fairhall/Fairall families, and so it is hoped this will lead to links to other families. Over 120 members of this family (variously recorded as Fayrehall, Fairehall and Fairhall) have been documented, and research is onging.

5. JOSEPH Fairhall

Joseph Fairhall and his wife Ellen Weller, are recorded in the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. So far 60 family members have been identified and we keep searching for more descendants and possible links to the Fairhalls in East Sussex.

6. JOHN Fairall

John Fairall was born in Caterham, Surrey, in 1812, and married Jane Gatland. Their descendants so far number over 500, and many still live in or near that county. However two of their children emigrated:

6a. John's daughter Elizabeth Fairall, her brother Reuben and his wife Arabella, emigrated in 1872 on board the Silver Eagle, and settled in the Goulburn district of New South Wales.

6b. Edwin Fairall migrated from Surrey to South Africa about 1870 and married Sarah Neil shortly after his arrival in Natal. To date, almost 400 descendants of Edwin and Sarah have been listed, including a family now operating a vineyard in Mudgee, New South Wales.

7. JOHN Fairall

John Fairall, who was also born in Surrey (about 1775), married Anne Waterford. They have a small documented family of nearly 200 members so far, mostly still in the south-east part of England.

8. JOHN Fairall

John Fairall was probably born in Wartling, Sussex in 1722. He and his wife Ann had four children as far as can be discovered so far: Anne(1750), Samuel (1760) William (1763) and Dianne (died 1772). There are about 200 descendants identified throughout Wartling, Hooe, Hailsham and Herstmonceux recorded, and the documentation of this family is a work in progress.
