      Joan Margaret Anne Gadsdon was born on 23 April 1923 at 33 Cupro Street in Lithgow, New South Wales.
Joan was a ballet dancer, a member of the Borovansky; Kirsova; UK International; Colonel de Basel's and Nina Verchinina's Companies between 1944 and 1949.
Joan was an actor and dancer in many plays and revues, including 'Where's Charlie?' and 'Crimson Pirate' in Britain between 1949 and 1957. On 17 August 1992 her name was legally changed to Joan Boswell Gadsdon.

Joan Boswell Gadsdon died on 12 October 2003 in London at the age of 80. She was cremated and her memorial plaque is at the Azalea Row, in the Garden Section of the General Cemetery in Lithgow, New South Wales.
